Narrative: Tolin-Akeman Park is about 5 acres, and its master plan calls for upgrading the playground, adding a shelter, basketball court, pickleball courts, and walking trail.

Southside Park

Scope: Demo, Drainage and Grading, Erosion Control

Narrative: Improvements include a new playground, adult fitness equipment, sports field and hardcourt improvements, and a shelter.

Frederick Douglass Athletic Fields

Scope: Demo, Drainage and Grading, Erosion Control

Narrative: Upgrades include a new playground that will open along side the Family Center and multi-use synthetic sports fields.

Krannert Park

Scope: Demo, Drainage and Grading, Erosion Control / Site Logistics

Narrative: Krannert Park’s existing family center is being improved to make room for new exercise areas, multi-purpose rooms, locker rooms, a new enclosed swimming pool, and an exterior splash pad.

Carpenter Nature Preserve

Scope: Demo, Drainage and Grading, Erosion Control, Water, Sanitary Sewer

Narrative: The first phase of the Carpenter Nature Preserve is expected to be completed by late 2025 or early 2026 with trails, an outdoor classroom, parking and restrooms.
